Waste hazard characterization should be based on data about waste source/origin, waste producing process, waste description, data on the waste appearance, composition as well as results from tailored prescribed analytical tests to complement the necessary information in different producer’s management scenarios in order to have a documented characterization. The resulted customized step wise methodological approach should guide any producer to seek specialized information from a third party in case of doubt on waste hazardousness, namely when the generated waste is a “mirror entry” type. The conclusions are presented in relation to the beneficial impact for the waste producer in order to positive responds to the European endeavor of waste improvement management creating the premises to make a transition to a circular economy. |
