Abstract:
Cadmium and zinc are quantitatively separated by selective elution on ion exchange resin, and the sample is broken up in hot solution containing 1 :1 hydrochloric acid (HCl), to complete dissolution. The acidity is adjusted with HCl (3.5 M) and cadmium and zinc are retained on a quaternary ammonium salt-type
anionite. Selective elution of zinc and cadmium is carried out, with various molarity HCl solutions and each metal is titrated at controlled pH with sodium-EDTA in the presence of black eriochromium T.
