The main crater of gryphon type is characterized by gas, mud and water eruptions. The water expelled from mud volcanoes represents a complex mixtures of deep and shallow meteoric waters. The soil from upper terrace of Forocici gryphon (FG) is enriched in metals (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu). The substratum of gryphon is populated of diatoms from which 6 species were identified.
