Abstract:
A standard treatment of residual effluents derived from 1 naphthol and 1 naphthy lmethyl carbanate (CARBARYL) prodn. involves sepn. of effluents at source, treating them individually depending on their compsn. and directing them both to biological and local effluent purification stations. Combined sources
originating from these two prodn. lines which follow on, are treated in situ for the removal or organic solvents or fluid resins and then having adjusted the pH (Fo34) pptd. crude 1 naphthol is filtered out. This is of comparable quality to the original prod. Filtered effluents are combined and are treated with granular active carbon to promote the removal of organic cpds. An effluent which contains inorganic cpds. is obtd. The Na2SO3 content of this is necessary for the neutralisation of the sources with active chlorine in the context of (final) placement. Active (carbon) surface is regenerated by refluxing With OFniC SOlVnl.
