Abstract
The invention relates to a process for obtaining supported materials of Tuf-Aln type, having indigenous volcanic tufa as support and aluminum hydrolyzed salts as supported material, these salts being supported materials with capacities of retaining heavy metals from aqueous media, surface waters, effluents or polluted soils, in trap-gaps. According to the invention, the process consists in distributing the support material consisting of volcanic tufa into a solution of sodium chloride 1 M, preparing a hydrolyzed aluminum solution having the final aluminum concentration of 0.1 ...0.2 M in the hydrolyzed solution, pH equal to 3...4.2 and a ratio between the OH and Al species of 2.2...2.45., adding the hydrolyzed aluminum solution into the suspension of tufa modified with sodium, so that, in the end, there is obtained a concentration of 0.25...0.5 mg Al/ml suspension, stirring the suspension of tufa modified with aluminum and drying the same at 80
degrees C.
