Abstract
The invention relates to a process for treating deep waters for drinking purpose. It consists in pre-oxidizing Fe2+ ions and partially Mn2+ ions by treating water with 1 .6...2.6 mg/l ClO2 for 5 min, while slowly stirring with a rate of 50 rpm, followed by combined oxidation of Mn2+ and the ammonium ions by treating water with 0.72...0.90 mg/l ClO2 and with 2.0...2.5 mg/Cl2 for 30 minutes while slowly stirring with a rate of 50 rpm, the separation of ferric hydroxide and manganese dioxide precipitates by decantation for 50 min and filtration with a flow of 1.2-1.5 l/h per natural indigenous zeolite having the granulation of 1 3 mm, placed in the column with the height of 20 cm and the interior diameter of 2 cm, thus there being obtained iron and manganese concentrations in the treated water, of 0.05...0.1 0 mg/l and 0.02...0.04 mg/l, respectively.
