Aldehydes, acetone, formic and acetic acids in indoor air of an office building

One of the objectives of our study was to evaluate and compare the levels of aldehydes and ketones in indoor air in offices. Also, we wanted to determine and discussed indoor concentrations of formic and acetic acids in the same offices. As so, a total number of seventeen carbonyls were scanned in indoor air samplers. Aldehydes and ketones were quantified using a DNPH-derivatization method followed by liquid chromatography coupled to UV detection. For the determinations of formic and acetic acids, a fast ion chromatography analytical method was developed.
