Abstract
The process comprises oxidn. of cast iron chips in aq. soln. of ammonium nitrate, 5-15 g/l. The reaction is carried out in the presence of 2-4 g/l hydrochloric acid or 3-5 g/l of ferric chloride. The reaction, at 85-100
degrees C, takes 2-5 hours.
