Abstract
Treatment of effluent involves comprises: physico-chemical treatment for destabilizing emulsified systems formed and biological treatment of separated aqueous phase. Emulsified systems are destabilized using 20-1000mg/l polyelectrolyte(based on acrylamide), with sulphuric acid (optimum pH=3) or ferric chloride
(optimum pH=5-5.5) or 850-1000mg/l reactive additive (13-14 hours treatment). Two separable phases result, with 45-60% emulsified organic compounds removal. Aqueous phase (yellow) is treated in second phase for 4-5 hours in active biological sludge plant (for large quantities) or 7-8 hours aerobic biofilter (for small quantities). Treated effluent is colorless, odorless, without suspensions, with 150-200mg/l organic charge (CC)Cr). Advance treatment may be accomplished by chemical oxidation with NaOCl (niu=30-40% or (better) with O3(niu=50-60%)). USE Process used to treat effluent resulted from washing of wool.
